Since begging her mother for dance classes when she was in kindergarten, Anita has always been a ‘mover’ with a life-long interest in dance, yoga and now Pilates.
After being diagnosed with scoliosis in her mid 50s, Anita has experienced in her own body the transformative power of Pilates. The regular practice of Pilates has helped her reduce her pain, support her spine, and generally become stronger. Realizing that Pilates would be a permanent part of her life, Anita became certified by the Physical Mind Institute in 2008.
Anita grew up in New Haven Connecticut. She studied mathematics at Albertus Magnus College and has a Master’s Degree in Math from the University of Massachusetts. Most of her professional career was spent at ARINC in Annapolis doing software engineering.
Since retiring in 2011, she has enjoyed painting and volunteering with the Anne Arundel County Literacy Council. Anita is a member of the Muddy Creek Artist’s Guild, and the Maryland Federation of Art. She is now the Tutor Coordinator for the Anne Arundel County Literacy Council.
